Ancient Wisdom with Modern Technology
Research
The complexity of Abhidhamma philosophy, with its intricate classification of mind, matter, and reality, requires a sophisticated translation approach that goes beyond word-for-word equivalence.
We investigate how cognitive science principles can inform terminology, ensuring philosophical and cultural accuracy in modern languages. Additionally, we develop AI-enhanced translation models to optimize classification structures, allowing precise rendering of Abhidhamma across different Buddhist traditions, such as Theravāda and Sarvāstivāda.
A key aspect of this research is the integration of AI-clustered formats, combining multiple translation systems within interactive Abhidhamma AI-GTP. By leveraging pre-translation models and multi-layered NLP systems, we create a dynamic, adaptive tool for scholars and practitioners to engage with Abhidhamma texts in their original language and in accurate translation frameworks.

Research on Abhidhamma Translation and Cognition
Our research focuses on two key areas related to Abhidhamma translation and AI-driven interpretation:
-
Philosophical and Cultural Bridging with Cognitive Science
-
We integrate modern cognitive science with Abhidhamma terminology to refine concept translation.
-
Comparative studies of philosophical frameworks (Buddhist and modern) inform precise lexical choices.
-
Semantic analysis ensures that technical Pāli, Sanskrit, and Chinese terms align with contemporary understanding.
-
Ontology and AI
We develop pre-translation models to classify and structure Abhidhamma terms.
-
AI-clustering techniques merge different translation systems, allowing dynamic cross-tradition responses.
-
Optimizing classification hierarchies ensures accurate contextual rendering across various Abhidhamma traditions.
-
Adaptive multi-layered NLP systems enhance real-time AI translation and user interaction.
This research advances AI-driven Abhidhamma studies by bridging classical Buddhist analysis with cutting-edge linguistic technology.
